Early Childhood Special Education
Western Springs District 101 provides Early Childhood Special Education services for children, three through five years of age. Children are identified through a preschool screening that takes place in the spring of each school year, a parent referral, or as a child transitions from an Early Intervention program. This Child Find occurs to help determine if a special education evaluation is needed.
Early Childhood Special Education professionals and related service personnel provide specialized educational services to children with disabilities. Children may receive services through district level supports or the five-day Early Childhood Special Education Program (ECE) that is presently housed at the First United Methodist Church in Western Springs.
Western Springs District 101 strives to meet the special educational needs of all children residing within the boundaries of Western Springs beginning at the time of the child’s third birthday through age five. Please contact Virginia Sulek, Assistant Coordinator of Special Services, regarding Early Childhood Special Education needs for your child.
